WHO IS GAV?

Dad, kent wedding photographer, music lover, sport lover, coffee drinker, red wine appreciator, bad guitarist, food is awesome, films are awesome, Game of Thrones is awesome, Stranger Things is awesome. That's probably me summed up nicely. Oh, I like clothes. And stuff, I'm a big fan of stuff. Not massively into cars tho. Baseball caps, check. Trainers, definitely, lots of. Cameras. Dear Lord do I like cameras.

Been taking photos for about 10 years, a hobby that turned into an addiction pretty quickly! Ask any photographer and they'll tell you your life soon revolves around the quality of light outside and the next lens you're eyeing up.

Yeah, that's me.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I've been "in the game" for about 11 years now. Crazy to think that I really didn't know what I was doing when I shot my first wedding (don't tell them that, tho I suspect they knew!) but I got through that first one and never looked back! Since then I've shot at literally every venue in and around Kent: Old Kent Barn, Winters Barns, Chilton Park, Charlton Park, Reach Court, Solton Manor, Cooling Castle, Buxted Park, East Quay, Preston Court, Marleybrook House, Bradbourne House, Ferry House Inn, Pembrook Lodge, the Oyster Shed.... the list goes on!

I've even been featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings and Rock My Wedding! Look for more features on wedding blogs soon

And if you're looking for a relaxed, documentary style photographer at your wedding, I think you should book me. Honestly, I'm a pretty cool guy to have at a wedding!

Oh, and while you’re here, I currently have a new website for my street photography in the making. Feel free to take a look! www.gavinhardy.com

There aren’t enough words to describe how f-ing incredible Gav was. We got married on a pier, the brief was festival by the sea meets vintage fire engine... so we knew a ‘stand and pose’ photographer wasn’t going to fit the bill. We found Gav through a friend who had booked him for their wedding. We (I) had been researching local photographers but I couldn’t find anyone that felt ‘right’. When I opened Gav’s Instagram I knew he was the guy for us and I was bloody right! He was our photographer, friend, coordinator and crowd control. He just made everything easy, was never intrusive and well, the photos speak for themselves... Gav photographs real people doing real stuff and our wedding album is a highlight reel of the best bits of the day instead of a series of posed shots. We regularly look through them and are instantly taken back to our incredible wedding day. I honestly cannot recommend him enough, particularly if you are looking for something a little alternative for your wedding photos.
