So I'm shooting these guys wedding at the Old Kent Barn in a few months. But before that they wanted some photos at one of their favourite spots in Kent. And they brought a cute little friend along to join in the fun!
Before the wedding ceremony at Villa Baroncino Stacey and Dean had the small matter of signing the official paper work in the the beautiful hillside town of Cortona. Narrow streets, sun, just a standard and unbelievably gorgeous Italian town.
Made a pretty nice backdrop to some pre-wed photos too.
Jon + Ruth, a lush Kent Wedding
It's a pretty damn cool thing when a guy you've known for about 22 years asks you to shoot his wedding, in the town you've both lived in the whole time, and the reception is back at his cool bar (The Taphouse in Deal, check it out!)
I'm shooting Jess and Simons wedding this year, which is cool.
So they wanted a few shots before with Hugo, their awesome and incredibly enthusiastic dog. We met up at Kingsdown beach in Kent, and spent an hour getting a few shots, had a coffee, then got a few more. And I kinda think they may even have enjoyed it!
I love photography. I love photographing nice people. And I love dogs!
Hannah and James got married at Stoke Newington Town Hall with the idea of us getting a few photos on the short walk to the Londeborough Pub just around the corner where the reception as to be held.
And so that's what we did. Hannah and James wanted minimal fuss. So we kept the photos short and sweet. Because to them it was more important to spend that time with their friends and family.
Honestly, this day was a blast, the Londesborough is a seriously cool, just check out that STRIP sign.

Laura and Anthony are a bit rebellious. They didn't want the recommended photographers, they wanted me. Laura was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Nat & Nick, a wedding I shot last year you see, so I met them for a coffee and discovered that she was marrying a guy that quite frankly anyone could be mates with! And yesterday I was there to shoot a pretty damn beautiful wedding in Kent. Here are my first 6 to share. Plenty more to follow!
When Ricky and Josephine first contacted me about an engagement shoot in early 2016, I never pictured that a year later I'd be shooting their wedding in Kowloon, Hong Kong. But here I am, writing this in my hotel room the night after a most awesome wedding.
And at this time I'll confess, I didn't really know what to expect at a Hong Kong wedding! But you know what? It doesn't matter. Because you just stay close, immerse yourself in the day and shoot with your instincts! And it was sooooo much fun. Ricky having to fight for Josephine, "OPEN THE DOOR!!" - so cool!! The day started at the Sheraton Hotel, and then off to his home for a tea giving ceremony.
After this we went off for some photos by the harbour, and then back to the Sheraton for the evening meal and celebrations.
Oh, and then an after party with beer pong.
And bed. At 4am.....
An amazing day and experience, I'm so excited to share these with Ricky and Josephine, and you.

From the minute I met Jade and Ryan at their pub a stones throw from Rochester castle, I knew as well as I could do that their wedding day was going to be basically awesome. Lot's of people, lots of energy, a gorgeous venue in Mountains near Sevenoaks as the ultimate Kent backdrop to the day. All that was needed was good weather, which didn't disappoint, plenty of food and drink, and some music to dance to!
My day started with a visit to Jade at the hotel where she was getting ready (awesome light, us photographers live for it!) and from there we headed to Mountains for the whole day.
I had a great time, it was so easy to mingle and get on with people.

These guys know how to party! Hard! Weddings for me are all about the people. Having a cool couple that want to see the day as just a very cool event definitely helps. Throw in guests that feel that way, and a crazy awesome bulldog, and you've got an amazing day.
It helps that it was at Winters Barns, one of my favourite wedding venues in Kent.
was a home from home for me last year, and this wedding was another beauty! Perfect weather, lovely people, literally everything you could wish for.
Winters is the type of venue where you can get married indoors or outside and not feel like you're getting a raw deal, but outside was the only option on a day like this and the ceremony was lovely.
An absolute pleasure to shoot this wedding

Love these guys, so relaxed, so much sun, beautiful venue. Had an absolute blast shooting this day at Winters Barns!
I'd never shot a wedding on New Years eve before - I was missing out! When you think about it, the idea is genius. Everyone is already in party mode! And rather than having to find something to do or justify being lazy and staying in, your guests are given an awesome party to attend!
And Louise and Matt did indeed have an awesome party - we even had great days weather (considering it's Britain and all that!).
Lush day, had a blast!
The thing that makes being a wedding photographer (well, definitely in my case) is that I seem to get to photograph the kind of people I'd happily be friends with in every day life. Like Ruth and Dave. The thing is, that then leads you to be able to get on with the guests because you're pretty much on the same wavelength when it comes to chit chat and your ideas of what makes a day, or a wedding day, a really REALLY good one!
And this was exactly that. A really REALLY good wedding. No, not good - excellent! Loved it. My first wedding at Prested Hall in Essex too. Seriously, what a venue! Just one of those oh so good days.
Another awesome day, and one of the craziest, high energy evenings I've been to! Chilston Park is a beautiful wedding venue, and Tash and Dan are pretty damn beautiful too.
Bridal prep in a room like that is a photographers dream: lovely big windows letting plenty of light in.
Truly a building with tonnes of character, a pleasure to shoot
Back at Winters Barns in Kent. Never going to complain about that, love the place!
Anna and Matt were ridiculously calm about everything. Which was lovely to see, and the wedding day reflected their incredibly relaxed attitude. Just a lovely day at a gorgeous venue to enjoy food and drink with friends and family.
Oh, and Anna's dad looks like Jurgen Klopp! True story
Claire and Dan got married at the Old Ken Barn, and I was there to capture it! Old Kent Barn was one of the first wedding venues I shot at, and I've always enjoyed the day there. Lucky for me then that I was back there to spend the day with the genuinely lovely Claire, Dan and their friends and family!
