Andrew & Michelle, a Northern Ireland Wedding
Yes, this is not a test, I shot a wedding!! How??? Well, you can get married in Northern Ireland. Cool eh!
So, I mentioned on Instagram that I’d tell the story of how I came to shoot this day, so I shall.
The year is 2018, and I get an email from Andrew. It wasn’t your normal email. It was an email that suggested I give him a call. So I did.
And during that phone call, Andrew reveals that a wedding photographer was using my images to try and get him booking. NO JOKE!! But, the amazing thing is that Andrew thought it was suspicious, so he did some investigative work and that’s how he discovered that the images were mine. And the thing is it back fired on the other photographer, because they booked me.
Then, of course, Covid hit, and the wedding got delayed to May 2021. But in the meantime Andrew and Michelle decided to move back to Northern Ireland. All plans for a wedding in England were abandoned and a low key wedding in Coleraine in January was the new plan. But they still wanted me to go. Something I was 100% up for…. after 3 years there was no way I wasn’t going to be there!
And now here I am, one week after the most excellent day in Coleraine, writing this and reflecting on a weekend I will never forget (I didn’t mention the necessity to be in and out of Northern Ireland in less than 24 hours which meant 2 x 7 hour Liverpool > Belfast and back ferry trips did I?).
Anyway, enough of that. Have some pictures!
And yes, there’s a bit of Game of Thrones in there…
